Snetterton BritCar Review

I had to learn some new endurance racing lessons this weekend at Snetterton, as I found myself in a sick racecar with an hour left to go. Facing the teams first DNF of the season I had to try and limp the car home. With 5th gear broken and unusable and with the car snatching left regularly it was a mix of not over revving the engine on the long straights, saving the gearbox as best as possible whilst trying to stay on the track and setting quick enough laptimes to be allowed to continue.

I must admit to quite enjoying the experience, although I would obviously have preferred to have been racing hard this really gave me a challenge and something to think about. Feelings would have been different if we hadn’t of made it but we did so we can take the positives from the situation.

Two other positives though were we fluked a podium finishing 3rd due to a mixture of stupid mistakes and mechanical failures hitting our class rivals. Whilst personally, on my one flying lap I did in quali I broke the cars previous lap record by several seconds again.
