After the non finish at Snetterton I was determined for another podium finish this weekend and despite the early rain I qualified in fifth for the race.? The track dried for the race and Jake made a great start but was held up by some Ferraris in the GT3 class, after another downpour the safety car was deployed and Jake made some great overtaking moves which meant he could handover to me with the car sitting top of the GT4 class.
Our great start was met with disaster when during a pitstop one of the wheel studs broke meaning a four minute delay and we dropped down to a lap to the class leaders.? I was absolutely determined to make up ground and the battle at the front of the class got intense.? Two leading cars collided, taking the Ginetta out which meant we finished in third place and got our place back on the podium!
It was a great weekend, I was so pleased we got on the podium again; the delays in the pitstop were frustrating but it made me even more determined to get the car to the flag in as high a position as possible. I am now looking forward to the next races on the Spa Francorchamps circuit and after a great recent test run I am confident for a good result.
