My name is Josh Wakefield. ?I’m years old and currently racing in the Trofeo Abarth 500 series.? I started kart racing in 2008 in the Rotax Senior championship at PFI, where I finishd 7th and was awarded the Novice of the Year trophy.? I took part in the Saxmax Challenge in 2009 which is a?junior race series for 14 to 17?year olds and finished 5th overall and again earning the Rookie of the Year trophy.? This is now my 2nd year of car racing and 3rd year overall and the Trofeo?Abarth GB is a brand new series this year.? I am currently running 3rd in the championship with 2 more events to go at Silverstone and Brands Hatch.? I am also going to Monza in October to take part in the European event which I am really looking forward to.
My?ambition is to acheive a full time?racing career and?am looking forward to all the?experience I can gather on my journey there.
I am racing as a privateer with Advent Motorsport and am solely funded by my parents but I am actively seeking help by way of sponsorship or donations?to help ease the burden.
I am currently working as a trainee technician at the local BMW dealership which helps me immensly with feedback to the team and mechanics and also as with the small financial contribution towards the cost.
