Calko's Motorsport Life

Last weekend was race in Lithuania, Smalininkai.It was 4th stage of Baltic Championship and also Lithuanian Cup.We came there in the middle of Thursday and i have done there a few laps.My thursday’s time was not very good, because of my mistakes and bad tyres.After good thursday’s evening relaxing, in Friday’s morning me and my mechanic?started to improve our speed. We found some good settings, and

in the end of Friday’s practice i had only 4 th position.I was little bit disordered because last races i was always 2nd. And now i got 4th position and all day was dry and in the evening started rain.In a race day(Saturday) rain was till morning practice (warm up).On practice i’ve done only one lap, because of engine problems.But in qualyfi i was first. It was something special for me.Before Pre final starts i was very stressed but after start i became very calmbecause i knew that i’m pretty fast in this track. And was

leading all laps.After Pre-final some guys came to me and said ” Good job Calko, beat lithuanian man!” This words helped me in final, because i knew that i have friends who likes my driving.In Final before start i was too much stressed, i don’t knew what to do.. but again, afterstart and after first corner everything became good. And i continued to drive calm and very clean.So, I won the race. And unbelievable became believable. I beat Simas. I became first.

Yesterday, 21.08.10 in 333 track in Riga conducted the 5th stage of Latvian Championship. In my category were only 8 drivers, and 4 of them are european level drivers, also me.

Qual.

Passed very interesting because of position changes. During whole qualy i was first but only in lat minute i became 2nd. Was little bit sick about it.

Pre-Final.

The weather was warm. It was something amazing, first 5 laps the race leader was changed about 6 times. Than i became 3rd. I lost only 0,119 to first place and 0,223 to second.

Final.

Grand final… everybody was staying outside their tents and watching in clouds, because of rain. Yeah, RAIN!!! Start. I become 2nd. Was trying to come closer to lithuanian guy, but i had 2008 year type W2 Mojo tyres. They are very hard. Was loosing about 7tens per lap. After 4 laps lithuanian guy flew away fromtrack, and i become 1st. was driving 10 laps first, but 3 laps before finish lithuanian guy passed me and i became 2nd.

Let’s start my blog from my results in BNL karting series. This year i became 3rd in BNL season in DD2 class. This achievment for me is very important because i drive first year in DD2 category. In lastrace i had a lot of hard battles where i took good or bad positions.
